Matt Brennan RMT

About me

My journey into massage therapy was sparked by a personal experience that demonstrated the immense benefits of this field. Graduating from Georgian College's Massage Therapy program in August 2018, I simultaneously pursued my passion as a personal trainer. With an active background in sports like swimming, running, soccer, and weightlifting, my appreciation for Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) deepened during my own injury rehabilitation process. Experiencing firsthand how massage therapy accelerated my recovery and performance, I became committed to helping others achieve the same benefits.

Over the past five years, I have worked with a diverse range of clients, from professional athletes striving for peak performance to individuals recovering from injuries and postural imbalances. I have extensive experience treating various musculoskeletal conditions, including those stemming from post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, and repetitive strain injuries. Whether helping an athlete stay at the top of their sport, assisting a client in returning to the gym pain-free, or alleviating everyday aches and discomfort, my goal is to optimize movement and recovery through personalized treatment strategies.

Having embarked on an active lifestyle from a young age, my swimming journey began at three, quickly progressing to a competitive swim team at five. At 11, I was scouted by the Great Britain Development Squad, and after moving from England to Canada in 2010, I continued my athletic trajectory through Oakville Aquatics and York University. My passion for endurance sports led me to triathlons and running events, culminating in a spot on the 2019 Canadian Age Group Triathlon World Championship team.

Beyond massage therapy, my background as a personal trainer has reinforced the synergy between movement and recovery. This holistic approach allows me to provide not only hands-on treatment but also guidance on corrective exercises, mobility work, and recovery strategies tailored to each client’s needs. Whether you're an athlete aiming to enhance performance, recovering from an injury, or simply seeking relief from daily tension, I’m here to help you move and feel your best.

My Mission

My mission is to enhance the well-being of individuals from all walks of life through rehabilitation, injury prevention, and proactive body maintenance. I am committed to helping clients move and feel their best—whether they are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or striving for peak athletic performance.

By providing personalized care tailored to each client’s unique needs, I aim to empower individuals to take control of their health, build resilience, and embrace a lifestyle of movement and wellness. Through a combination of hands-on therapy, education, and recovery strategies, my goal is to support long-term improvements in mobility, function, and overall quality of life.

My Experience

With extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients—from recreational enthusiasts to elite athletes—I specialize in addressing a variety of musculoskeletal concerns. Whether it’s chronic discomfort like low back pain, neck and shoulder tension, or frequent headaches, I take a comprehensive approach to treatment, tailoring each session to the specific needs of my clients.

A significant part of my practice focuses on injury rehabilitation and prevention. I have worked extensively with individuals recovering from muscle strains, joint dysfunctions, and post-surgical conditions, helping them regain mobility and strength. My goal is not only to provide relief but to support long-term recovery and performance through targeted massage therapy techniques and proactive care strategies.

By combining my background in massage therapy and personal training, I am able to bridge the gap between recovery and movement, empowering my clients to stay active, pain-free, and resilient in their daily lives and athletic pursuits.

Outside of my work life

I lead an active lifestyle that complements my passion for movement and well-being. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll often find me running, training for my next marathon, or hitting the gym to stay strong and mobile. In the winter, I enjoy snowboarding, while the summer months are spent camping and hiking with my partner, exploring nature and making the most of the great outdoors.

Staying active isn’t just a professional focus—it’s a core part of who I am. Whether pushing my own limits in training or simply enjoying time outside, I believe movement is key to a balanced, fulfilling life.
